Collar: The color is more colonial/gothic than dressy. Folded up you have a very pirate/gothic look and folded down looks a little more dressy and colonial. Tails: Tails may be longer than you originally wanted. But worked. Just be careful when knelling as you can end up catching the tails when standing back up. Pockets: External pockets are functional with rounded interior. It's not just a decoration and real internal pockets. You can put keychain/phone in it.
